Priyambada Joshi | Nepal

For the past three years, Priyambada Joshi has worked as Senior Agri-economist at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development in Nepal. Her current focus is the Agriculture Sector Development Programme which is tasked with value chain development for agriculture commodities.

Priyambada has more than 11 years of experience in project management with skills in sustainable agriculture, food security, value chain development and business planning/start-up incubation.  

Her agricultural development experience extends outside of Nepal to include two years working in Africa with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

In 2009 Priyambada completed a Masters in Agri-Economics at the Tribhuvan University of Nepal where she also obtained her Bachelor in Agriculture. 

A confident speaker, Priyambada has hosted various national and international level conferences, most recently the International Conference on Food Sovereignty and Peasants' Rights.

Priyambada loves plants both indoors and outdoors. After a long day at the office, she likes to devote some time to the care of her plants. At the moment her favourite plants are aloe vera and basil not just because of their looks, but because they are equally usable. She has collection of various of basils.
