Thi Mar Win | Myanmar

Thi Mar is a value chain and agribusiness specialist with fifteen years’ experience working in the development sector in Myanmar for both private enterprise and non-governmental organisations.

After ten years as an individual consultant Thi Mar founded MyanSEED Agribusiness Consultancy in 2018. MyanSEED explores research and project activities for the development of the private sector, rural development and food safety matters. In addition, Thi Mar also works within the Myanmar Consumer’s Union as a Joint Secretary 2 of the teams for consumer education and policy support.

Thi Mar obtained a Bachelor of Agricultural Science in 2015 from Yezin Agricultural University in Myanmar and went on to study Agriculture and Resource Economics at Kyushu University in Japan for her Master Degree under a scholarship awarded by ADB-JSP.

As a scientist, Thi Mar is motivated by positive feedback on her first assignment on "Rice Value Chain Analysis in Delta areas" by GRET and Welthungerhilfe (France and Germany based NGOs) and findings and recommendations are applied in the development of the next program, Delta 3. Moreover, Welthungerhilfe awarded another assignment for vegetables in their project areas just after the first assignment. 

Thi Mar is a published poet and has authored several books including " Don't Sign on this Nostalgia...Being Poetry" and " In Different Towns, Different Regions and Different Summers".
